Owner report 10325704 · 2010-04-14 (April 14, 2010)
NOTICED THAT ADDITIONAL FORCE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. BROUGHT INTO DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE BACKSIDE OF THE ROTOR IS RUSTED AWAY AND THAT THERE IS ONLY 1/4 OF AN INCH OF CONTACT ON THE REAR SIDE OF ALL 4 ROTORS. VEHICLE HAS 30,000 MILES AND IS OUT OF WARRANTY, DEALER SAID CORROSION IS NORMAL IN THE NORTHEAST AND NOW WANTS $1,000 FOR A NEW BRAKE JOB. *TR

I JUST BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE FROM COMMUNITY FORD IN INDIANA. I GOT UP UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE AND FOUND THE FRAME IS SEVERELY RUSTED AND CRACKED AT THE FACTORY INSTALLED FRAME HITCH MOUNT POINTS. AS IF THE TONGUE WEIGHT TO A TRAILER WAS OVER THE RATED LIMIT. I HAVE READ SEVERAL POSTS ON FORUMS DEALING WITH THIS ISSUE AND IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE IN 2500HD TRUCKS OF THIS YEAR AND 2005.I HAVE ALSO NOTICED MY REAR CROSSMEMBER IS SEVERELY CORRODED ALONG WITH OTHER PARTS OF THE FRAME. *TR

WENT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE, AND NOTICED THE BRAKE PEDAL HAD NO PRESSURE WHATSOEVER. SLOWLY DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME WITH MINIMAL BRAKES. ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, BRAKE FLUID POURED FROM MID-FRAME DRIVER'S SIDE. CONSIDERED VEHICLE TO BE UNSAFE UNTIL BRAKE LINES CAN BE REPLACED. *TR

Owner report 10574901 · 2014-03-26 (March 26, 2014)
THIS VEHICLE JUST QUITS RUNNING BY ITSELF AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND THEN YOU CANNOT CONTROL THE BRAKES, STEERING OR ENGINE. I REPORTED THIS TO ODI IN MARCH OF 2006 CONFIRMATION #10153178. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE IN TO GMC DEALERS TO REPAIR THIS ISSUE MANY TIMES AND EACH TIME I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO RECALL AND THAT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE MY PROBLEM. I SAW ON THE NEWS RECENTLY THAT OTHER GMC PRODUCTS HAVE THIS ISSUE AND HAVE CAUSED DEATHS, BUT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT LISTED IN THE RECALL. I WANT TO KNOW WHY NOT? I AM LUCKY I DID NOT GO OVER A CLIFF O…

I WENT TO BACK OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. I LOOKED UNDER THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED A RUSTED BRAKE LINE HAD BURST. I WAS ABLE TO PARK IT SAFELY BACK IN THE DRIVEWAY. I TAKE CARE OF MY TRUCK AND IS SERVICED REGULARLY BY THE DEALER.
