Owner report 10079080 · 2004-06-30 (June 30, 2004)

IN MY 2004 YUKON DENALI THE STEERING WHEEL PUMP WENT UP. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED ON MAY 8, 2004 AND TO MY DISCOVERY THE FAILURE OCCURED ON JUNE 26, 2004. WHILE DRIVING I NOTICED A LOUD HUMMING SOUND COMING FROM THE TRUCK. IT WAS NOTICEABLE WHEN I DEPRESSED THE GAS PETAL AND ALSO WHILE TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL. I CONTACTED ONSTAR TO PERFORM A DIAGNOSTIC OF THE VEHICLE IN HOPES THEY COULD DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. ONSTAR WAS ABLE TO ASSESS MY TRUCK AND INFORMED ME THAT NOTHING WAS MALFUNCTIONED ELECTRICALLY WHICH INDICATED A MANUAL DYSFUNCT…

DURING NORMAL DRIVING, BRAKE PEDAL WILL SOMETIMES GO TO THE FLOOR WHEN ATTEMPING TO STOP, AND VEHICLE WILL NOT SLOW DOWN AT ALL. AFTER SECOND ATTEMPT, BRAKES START WORKING AGAIN. NO ERRORS REPORTED BY VEHICLE COMPUTER. WE HAVE ALREADY HIT A MAILBOX TRYING TO AVOID A CRASH, AND ALMOST ROLLED OVER ANOTHER TIME DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO SLOW DOWN IN TIME. TWO GM DEALERS HAVE FOUND NO PROBLEMS, AND WE HAVE BEEN TOLD TO NOT BRING THE VEHICLE BACK TO THEM AS THEY SAY NOTHING IS WRONG WITH IT. PROBLEM HAPPENS APPROX. EVERY 5 WEEKS, NO CONSISTENCY …
