THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN IN THE THE DEALER5S SHOP ON THREE OCCASSIONS BECAUSE OF SERPENTINE BELT FAILURE.THE COMPRESSOR WENT OUT ON OUR VACATION LAST MAY AND WE WERE STUCK IN ALABAMA FOR THREE DAYS WITH HOTELS AND REAPIR COSTS.IN FEB, 2001 WE TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK INTO DEALER BECAUSE OF A ROARING NOISE.WE READ ON THE INTERNET THAT IT WAS DANGEROUS AND WAS PROBABLY THE POWERTRAIN.IT WAS.COST $2200.00 DOLLARS BUT AFTER COMPLAINING ABOUT THE LOW MILAGE ON THE VEHICLE THEY SPLIT 50/50.THERE HAS BEEN SEVERAL....COMPLAINTS VIA INTERNET THAT OTHERS …

BOTH THE SUPPLEMENTAL INFLATABLE RESTRAINT (SIR) CAUTION LABEL AND AN ENGINE START LABEL WERE INSTALLED ON THE SAME SIDE OF THE DRIVER'S SUN VISOR. THIS DOES NOT COMPLY WITH FMVSS NO. 208, "OCCUPANT CRASH PROTECTION."

Consequence: CONSEQUENCE OF NON-COMPLIANCE: OPERATORS COULD FAIL TO NOTICE AND HEED THE WARNING LABELS.

Remedy: A NEW LABEL, WITH INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS, WILL BE SENT DIRECTLY TO OWNERS. OWNERS WILL INSTALL THE LABEL OR CAN HAVE THEIR DEALER INSTALL THE LABEL FOR THEM.
