Owner report 10121821 · 2005-05-22 (May 22, 2005)

THE FUEL GAUGE QUITS AT VARIOUS TIMES, READING ZERO AND THE LOW FUEL LIGHT COMES ON. IT SEEMS TO BE A RELAY PROBLEM IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE OFF DURATION IS GETTING LONGER AND IS NOT REALTED TO FUEL TANK LEVEL NOR TO VEHICLE MOVEMENT. SHUTTING THE IGNITION SWITCH OFF AND THEN BACK TO ON WILL USUALLY CURE THE PROBLEM. SOME TIMES WHEN THE FUEL GAUGE COMES ON THE LEVEL RISES VERY SLOWLY, TAKING SEVERAL MINUTES TO REACH THE FULL LEVEL WITH THE TANK FULL.

DT: CONTACT STATES: WHEN HE HAS A LOAD ON THIS TRUCK THE BRAKES FEEL LIKE THEY ARE FAILING. WHEN HE APPLIES THE BRAKES, THEY GO TO THE FLOOR. DEALER REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER, BUT IT DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. SOMETIMES WHEN SITTING STILL AND JUST IDLING CALLER CAN PRESS ON THE BRAKES AND THEY WILL GO TO THE FLOOR. GENERAL MOTORS SAYS THIS IS A NORMAL OCCURRENCE.*AK *JB
