I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 2014 GENUINE STELLA SCOOTER FROM A DEALER IN CALIFORNIA. FOR THE FIRST 30 DAYS I OWNED THE BIKE IT BROKE DOWN 4 TIMES DUE TO THE ECU UNIT. IT WAS IN THE SHOP 21 DAYS OF THE FIRST 30 DAYS I OWNED IT. THE DEALER I BOUGHT IT FROM EVENTUALLY FOUND OUT THE PROBLEM AND WAS ABLE TO FIX IT. I CONTACTED GENUINE IN CHICAGO MULTIPLY TIMES AND WAS ALWAYS BRUSHED OFF. DURING THOSE FIRST 30 DAYS I WAS STRANDED IN DIFFERENT PLACES IN LA FOR HOURS AT A TIME. Reported: 2014-07-07 (July 7, 2014)
Genuine Scooters, LLC (Genuine) is recalling certain model year 2014 Stella 125 Automatic scooters manufactured December 2013 to March 2014. The affected scooters may have a faulty engine control unit (ECU) which can cause the engine to stall without warning.
Consequence: If the engine stalls while the scooter is being ridden there is an increased risk of a crash.
Remedy: Genuine will notify owners, and dealers will replace the ECU with a new one, free of charge. The recall began on August 29, 2014. Owners may contact Genuine customer service 1-773-433-1311.
