Owner report 11562751 · 2023-12-30 (December 30, 2023)

Defective software issue that has not been corrected since owner took possession of vehicle. Customer/Client is told to deal with the Engineering dept. at Genesis Corporate and it is out of the hands of the dealer. The software effects a lot of moving parts and safety features within vehicle, I feel the vehicle cannot be trusted. No one follows up from dealer to National Customer Service for the brand. They need accountability immediately.

Owner report 11599337 · 2024-07-05 (July 5, 2024)

After 3 weeks of sitting idle, the car door had trouble to open. We changed the key batteries but didn’t fix the issue. The next day, car door opened without issue and the car was fine to drive. The 3rd day, the car went dead with no response to the key. The 4th day it came back to live again. However, the car went completely stalled during driving. The engine stopped and no lights or electricity can be turned on. After 15 seconds, the car restarted by itself. I sent the car to dealership but they cannot find any issue.

Owner report 11612844 · 2024-09-05 (September 5, 2024)

Total battery system failure to where vehicle would not start/restart, or if started via jumping, would stall out shortly thereafter. Battery problem to point to where jump starting is difficult due to shorted battery lowering availalble power to start/restart engine. This could have caused unexpected removal of power from the vehcile during traveling or in unsafe areas. This appears to be a very common problem with this vehicle as seen on various online forums and lack of part (battery) availability.

Owner report 11616246 · 2024-09-24 (September 24, 2024)

Purchased my 2024 GV80 3.5t in June of 2024 and have been experiencing intermittent issues with the acceleration. Car hesitates when accelerating and can causing accidents while at an intersection making a turn. I have bought the car into the dealership three times, and they are unable to reproduce. Unfortunately, after reading the complaints and symptoms of the fuel pump recall for the 2021-2023 this issue seems identical. I have reach out to Genesis Corporate and they are no help and don't return calls or emails for days.

Owner report 11625844 · 2024-11-18 (November 18, 2024)

While at a stop sign on a hill the brakes failed. Brake pedal released and sunk to the floor while pressed at a stop sign. I lost control of the car and had to swerve to the opposite side of the road to avoid collision. I then attempted to engage the emergency brake but that failed as well. The car rolled through a red light after which I put the car in park in an effort to stop the vehicle before running the next red light. The car came to a jerking stop after I put it in park. At the time of brake failure, warning alerts activated on the dash…

Owner report 11631038 · 2024-12-16 (December 16, 2024)

While driving through a parking lot on [XXX], leaves blew in front of car and it automatically came to an abrupt stop. While driving on [XXX] on [XXX] at approximately 70 MPH, without any encroaching vehicles and with no road obstructions, the automatic emergency braking temporarily engaged on 2 occasions, indicator on dash indicated that it occurred, and I felt the wheels lock up for a short time. Fortunately, there was nobody very close behind me and I was able to maintain control of the car. In neither of these instances, did I physically …

Owner report 11643679 · 2025-02-19 (February 19, 2025)

1. When starting from a stop the vehicle sometimes applies brakes with a collision warning, with no other vehicles in front or next to the car. This will repeat several times before the issue goes away. This has happened 4 times in the last 10 days.   2. When using adaptive cruise control the vehicle will not recognize vehicles ahead, even with the maximum following distance selected. This is almost always the case.
