Owner report 10537821 · 2013-08-28 (August 28, 2013)
AS I WAS ENTERING THE MOTORHOME THE STEPS EXTENDED OUT BUT WHEN I STEPPED ON THE LOWER STEP IT GAVE WAY AND I FELL OFF OF THE LOWER STEP. IF I HAD BEEN EXITING THE MOTORHOME I WOULD HAVE FALLEN DOWN ABOUT 3 FEET ONTO THE GROUND AND I WOULD HAVE SUSTAINED SERIOUS INJURY. THERE IS NO SAFETY LATCH WHEN THE STEPS ARE EXTENDED. I HAVE READ OF OTHER PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. *TT

THIS MOTORHOME HAS ELECTRIC ENTRANCE STEPS MANUFACTURED BY LIPPERT (LCI). THE MAIN BOLT THAT SECURES THE DRIVE GEAR SHEARED OFF. I HAD ONE FOOT ON THE STEP AND ONE INSIDE THE MOTORHOME WHEN THE BOLT FAILED. THIS IS A KNOWN AND COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE STEPS. THIS MOTORHOME USES THE 3 STEP MODEL FOR ENTRANCE TO THE UNIT. *TR

ON OCTOBER 2014, WHILE DRIVING OUR GEORGETOWN CLASS A RV WITH A CAR IN TOW HEADING SOUTH ON I-95 NEAR VERO, FLORIDA, WE CAME UPON TWO VERY LARGE PIECES OF SEMI-TRUCK TIRE TREAD IN THE HIGHWAY AND COULD NOT AVOID HITTING ONE OF THEM. THE RUBBER IMPACTED THE RV MAIN EXHAUST TAIL PIPE AND DROVE IT UNDER THE LEFT REAR DUAL WHEEL WHICH RESULTED IN THE MUFFLER AND EXHAUST PIPING SYSTEM BEING RIPPED FROM THEIR MOUNTS AND BECOMING WRAPPED AROUND THE REAR DRIVE SHAFT. THE DRIVE SHAFT WAS BENT BY THE IMPACT FROM THE MUFFLER. THE EXHAUST PIPE FOR THE A…

Owner report 11331962 · 2020-07-01 (July 1, 2020)
THE VEHICLE HAS JUST UNDER 19,000 MILES ON IT AND THE FRONT, DRIVER COMPARTMENT SUPPORT STRUCTURE IS FAILING. THIS IS CAUSING THE WINDSHIELD TO MOVE SEPARATELY FROM THE SUPPORT FRAMING STRUCTURE CAUSING A LOUD SQUEAKING. THE MOVEMENT HAS ALREADY BROKEN THE WEATHER STRIPPING SURROUNDING THE WINDSHIELD BOTH INSIDE AND OUT. CONTINUING TO OPERATE THIS VEHICLE UNDER THIS CONDITION WILL EVENTUALLY RESULT IN WINDSHIELD BEING EJECTED FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE AND THEREFORE REPRESENTS A CLEAR AND PRESENT SAFETY ISSUE. THIS CONDITION EXISTS UND…

13V203000 · Equipment
Reported: 2013-05-17 (May 17, 2013)
Forest River is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Forest River models Blue Ridge, Cardinal, Cherokee, Columbus, EVO, Georgetown, Flagstaff, Forester, Lexington, Puma, Rockwood, Sabre, Salem, Sandpiper, Sandstorm, Sierra, Stealth, Sunseeker, Wildcat, Wildwood, Work and Play and XLR; Coachmen models Brookstone, Catalina, Chaparral, Concord, Encounter, Freedom Express, Freelander, Leprechaun, Mirada, Pursuit, and Sportcoach; Prime Time models Avenger, Crusader, Lacrosse, Saniber, and Tracer; Palomino model Maverick Truck Camper; Cargo Mate model Eliminator and Shasta models Revere, Phoenix recreational vehicles manufactured from February 13, 2013, through April 18, 2013. Due to a design change in the power awning motor assembly, the motor assembly screws may unknowingly shear.
Consequence: If the motor assembly screws shear, it is possible that the awning can unfurl unexpectedly, either while the vehicle is at rest or while in transit, increasing the risk of personal injury or a vehicle crash.
Remedy: Forest River will notify owners and Dometic staff will replace the affected motors with motors of a different design. The safety recall began on July 29, 2013. Owners may contact Forest River at 1-574-389-4600 or Dometic at 1-888-447-0003 for more information. Owners are being instructed not to drive their vehicle until repairs can be performed.

Reported: 2015-11-25 (November 25, 2015)
Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2014 FR3, 2009 Forest River Encore, Sportscoach Elite, and Aurora, 2008-2009 Cruise Master, 2012-2015 Aviator, 2007-2014 Georgetown, 2007-2009 Legend, 2008-2012 Ridgeview, 2008-2014 Cross Country, 2010-2014 Coachmen Encounter, 2009-2014 Pathfinder, Solera, Mirada, Prism, and Pursuit motorhomes. The affected vehicles are equipped with certain Lippert-brand Coachstep Double and Triple Electric Steps. These steps use a bolt to attach the fan gear assembly to the steps. This bolt may fracture allowing the fan gear to disengage from the steps. As a result, the steps may not remain in the expected position and may be unstable.
Consequence: Unstable entry and exit steps increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: Forest River will notify owners and dealers will install a retainer bracket to reinforce the operating mechanism, free of charge. Forest River issued an interim notification to owners on January 7, 2016. The recall began on March 3, 2016. Owners may contact Forest River customer service number at 1-574-389-4600. NHTSA campaign record ↗24V913000 · Exterior Lighting:Turn Signal
Reported: 2024-12-06 (December 6, 2024)
Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2009-2017 Georgetown Class A motorhomes. The amber turn signal lens has an undersized reflective surface. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Consequence: Inadequately reflective turn signals can make it difficult for other drivers to see when the vehicle intends to turn, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the turn signal, and bulb, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 11, 2025. Owners may call Forest River customer service at 1-574-206-7600. Forest River's number for this recall is 68-1875.
