CONSUMER STATED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD HEARD A NOISE. IT SOUNDED AS IF SOMETHING WAS HITTING THE SIDE OF MOTOR HOME. CONSUMER PULLED TO THE SIDE, GOT OUT, LOOKED AT THE TIRES, AND DISCOVERED THAT THE TREAD PORTION OF THE TIRE CAME OFF. WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE JUMPED OUT OF GEAR. VEHICLE HAD NO CRUISE CONTROL OR HORN. CONSUMER CONTACTED THE DEALER, AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT FIX IT. DEALER DISCONNECTED THE CERVAL WHICH HELPED. HOWEVER THE PROBLEM RECURRED. *AK THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE CRUISE STOPPED WORKING. VEHICLE JUMPS OUT OF GEAR AT 52 MPH AND 47 MPH. *TC

DT: CONTACT STATES WHILE DRIVING THE MOTOR HOME WATER GETS INTO THE AIR FILTER THAT IS LOCATED IN FRONT OF THE GRILL, WHICH CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO CUT OUT AND BOG DOWN. THE CONTACT CAN TAKE THE AIR FILTER OUT WHEN THIS HAPPENS AND DRY IT OFF, AND THEN IT WILL WORK FINE. TOOK THE MOTOR HOME TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHERE THEY PUT IN A BLACK PLASTIC PIECE IN TO COVER THE AIR FILTER. THIS DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM.*AK

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 FORD HOLIDAY RAMBLER (NA). THE CONTACT RECEIVED NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 07V336000 (VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL). HE WAS CONCERNED THAT THE DEALER'S WHO WERE ON THE PARTICIPATING LIST OF SERVICE DEALERS WOULD NOT HAVE THE PARTS AND WOULD NOT BE EQUIPPED TO PERFORM THE SAFETY RECALL REPAIR. THE PURCHASE DATE AND DEALER INFORMATION WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 78,280.
