WHILE TRAVELING AT APROX. 25 MPH THE TIE ROD END ON THE RIGHT SIDE DISCONNECTED WITH NO WARNING CAUSING THAT TIRE TO TURN OUT WORD WITH THE OTHER STILL STRAIGHT. THEN IT HAPPENED TO THE OTHER SIDE WHILE BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT ABOUT 2 MONTHS AFTER THE FIRST TIME IT HAD HAPPENED DOING THE SAME THING WITHOUT ANY WARNING IT WOULD HAPPEN.THESE PARTS ARE POORLY PUT ON BY THE MANUFACTUER. IF I HAD BEEN TRAVELING ON A HIGHWAY AT A GREATER SPEED THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A TERIBLE ACCIDENT CAUSING GREAT INJURY OR DEATH TO ME OR OTHERS. THERE IS BAREL…

07V553000 · Engine And Engine Cooling:Engine:Diesel

Reported: 2007-12-05 (December 5, 2007)

ON CERTAIN HEAVY DUTY TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH 7.3L DIESEL ENGINES, THE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR LOCATED ON THE ENGINE OF THE VEHICLE MAY FUNCTION INTERMITTENTLY, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN AN ENGINE STALL.

Consequence: IN THE EVENT OF AN ENGINE STALL, A CRASH COULD RESULT WITHOUT WARNING.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE SENSOR AND REPLACE IT WITH AN IMPROVED CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON DECEMBER 29, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT FORD AT 1-866-436-7332.
