The contact stated while driving 65 MPH with the cruise control activated in the State if Iowa, the rear passenger’s side outer side tire had a blowout. The contact was able to park on the side of the road and called roadside assistance to replace the tire. The tire was replaced. WHILE IN MOTION, THE TIRE ON THE LEFT (THE STEERING AXLE TIRE) FAILED AND BLEW OUT. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN VEHICLE TO GET IT BACK IN CONTROL. THIS IS THE FIRST BLOW OUT, BUT IT IS THE 3RD TIRE TO FAIL ON THIS VEHICLE.(GOODYEAR TIRE 265 75R225) *JG

A LOW AIR PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT LOCATED IN THE DRIVER'S INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FAILS TO ACTIVATE IF THE FRONT BRAKE AIR RESERVOIR SYSTEM FALLS BELOW 60 PSI. THIS DOES NOT COMPLY WITH FMVSS NO.121, "AIR BRAKE SYSTEMS."
Consequence: CONSEQUENCE OF NON-COMPLIANCE: LOW AIR PRESSURE IN THE FRONT BRAKE SYSTEM COULD LEAD TO DECREASED VEHICLE BRAKING PERFORMANCE OR CAUSE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE SYSTEM TO ENGAGE WITHOUT THE DRIVER GIVEN VISUAL OR AUDIBLE WARNING.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL A WIRING HARNESS WHICH CORRECTLY CONNECTS THE FRONT BRAKE RESERVOIR SYSTEM LOW PRESSURE SWITCH TO THE LOW AIR PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT LOCATED IN THE DRIVER'S INSTRUMENT CLUSTER.
