TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 (NA) ECLIPSE ATTITUDE TRAVEL TRAILER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WIRING IN THE TRAILER WAS FAULTY. ALL OF THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS WOULD NOT OPERATE. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION, THE WIRING IN THE TRAILER WAS FOUND TO BE CORRODED AND BURNED. THE CONTACT NOTICED SPARKS COMING FROM THE WIRING AND FUSES, WHICH EMITTED A GLOWING RED COLOR. THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT ASSIST WITH ANY REPAIRS OR ASSUME LIABILITY. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE LESS THAN 300.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 ECLIPSE ATTITUDE RV. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED CRACKS ON THE CORNERS ON THE SLIDE OUT OF THE KINGPIN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.

08V570000 · Equipment:Recreational Vehicle/Trailer

Reported: 2008-10-29 (October 29, 2008)

ECLIPSE RV IS RECALLING 98 MY 2007 ATTITUDE RECREATIONAL VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A TWO-DOOR REFRIGERATOR MANUFACTURED BY THE DOMETIC CORPORATION. THE REFRIGERATOR MAY HAVE A DEFECT IN THE BOILER TUBE. PRESSURIZED COOLANT SOLUTION COULD BE RELEASED INTO AN AREA WHERE AN IGNITION SOURCE (GAS FLAME) IS PRESENT.

Consequence: RELEASE OF COOLANT UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS COULD IGNITE AND RESULT IN A FIRE.

Remedy: ECLIPSE RV WILL BE WORKING WITH DOMETIC IN ORDER TO REPAIR THESE REFRIGERATORS (PLEASE SEE 08E032). DOMETIC WILL REPAIR THESE REFRIGERATORS BY INSTALLING A SECONDARY BURN HOUSING, A THERMAL FUSE, AND A MELT FUSE FREE OF CHARGE. DOMETIC HAS RETAINED STERICYCLE INC. TO MANAGE THIS CAMPAIGN. STERICYCLE WILL ASSIST THE OWNER IN LOCATING DEALERSHIPS OR SERVICE CENTERS AND WILL PROVIDE ASSISTANCE WITH SCHEDULING OF APPOINTMENTS. OWNERS MAY CONTACT DOMETIC/STERICYCLE AT 1-888-446-5157 OR ECLIPSE RV AT 951-684-6868.
