-ON 9/26/2019 AT APPROXIMATELY 0800 HOURS, WHILE DRIVING ON THE WHITESTONE EXPY, I UP-SHIFTED INTO 3RD GEAR FROM 2ND GEAR, UPON RELEASING THE CLUTCH, THE ENGINE STALLED CAUSING THE REAR WHEEL TO LOCK (I WAS TRAVELLING AT APPROXIMATELY 54 MPH). I QUICKLY PRESSED THE CLUTCH AND COASTED TO THE SHOULDER LANE (A SEMI-TRUCK WAS DIRECTLY BEHIND ME). UPON ATTEMPTING TO RESTART THE ENGINE THE ENGINE HESITATED TO START SEVERAL TIMES. WHEN THE ENGINE FINALLY STARTED, I HELD THE CLUTCH PUTTING THE BIKE INTO 1ST GEAR AND PROCEEDED. APPROXIMATELY 10 FEET LAT…

The motorcycle stalls after engaging the clutch when approaching a stop. This does not happen at every stop but does happen every time I ride the motorcycle. This put me at risk because other drivers around me didn't know that I needed to restart my motorcycle before I could begin moving again. The dealership said that they were unable to reproduce the issue. No one has inspected the motorcycle except for the dealer. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. This started after six months after …

Pervasive known issue occurred wherein motorcycle stalls while riding and power is removed/throttle closed. Motorcycle also stalls while at stop lights. This is a safety concern as motorcycle can stall inexplicably while under way and in corners where engine power is needed to exit the corner leading user to restart engine while underway.

19V780000 · Electrical System:12v/24v/48v Battery

Reported: 2019-10-30 (October 30, 2019)

Ducati North America (Ducati) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Hypermotard 950 and Hypermotard 950 SP motorcycles. The negative terminal on the battery may break, potentially causing a sudden loss of power and an engine stall.

Consequence: An engine stall can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Ducati will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the routing of the negative cable, rerouting it as necessary. In addition, the battery will be better secured with insulation pads. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began December 10, 2019. Owners may contact Ducati customer service at 1-888-391-5446. Ducati's number for this recall is SRV-RCL-19-003.

21V738000 · Structure:Motorcycle:Kickstand/Center Stand

Reported: 2021-09-23 (September 23, 2021)

Ducati North America (Ducati) is recalling certain 2019 Hypermotard 950 SP motorcycles. The side stand may be improperly welded, potentially causing the stand to break.

Consequence: A broken side stand could result in the motorcycle falling down, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will install a new side stand, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 22, 2021. Owners may contact Ducati customer service at 1-888-391-5446. Ducati's number for this recall is SRV-RCL-21-011.
