Owner report 11447863 · 2022-01-18 (January 18, 2022)

I was driving on the interstate and my sunroof exploded. There were few cars around me and I was not under a bridge. I did not see anything coming at the car or see anything drop or fall behind us. Just heard a lot exploding noise.

Owner report 11451802 · 2022-02-14 (February 14, 2022)

I purchased a 2022 Chevrolet Suburban on December 6, 2022 equipped with4 Bridgestone Alenza A/S 02 tires sized 275 50R22. On December 21, on my way home I hit a bump. When I got home I could audibly hear air leaking out of the passenger rear tire. I called OnStar who sent a tow truck driver out to put the spare on. We could not find a nail or anything in the tire but there was about a 1.5 inch crack in the sidewall about 1 inch away from the rim with nothing sticking in it. I took it to the dealership where I purchased the tire and they ord…

Owner report 11486651 · 2022-09-27 (September 27, 2022)

When I started up the vehicle with the key fab button I noticed the cabin air blower came on as normal however when we went to the cockpit we noticed the engine was not running. When we went to start the vehicle (holding break and pressing start button) the dashboard started the Z71 launch sequence and then went to a dashboard as if I was in the normal drive mode however the dashboard was extremely dimly lit as if the backlight was not on and the engine still was not running. After several attempts to start using the brake+start button method …

Owner report 11517247 · 2023-04-15 (April 15, 2023)

When the vehicle was ordered I paid an extra amount for "driver safety alert package" to include rear and front parking sensors. It's a big car and these are quite important for safe operations. Upon car delivery in 3/2022, I got a note saying the chip operating the driver assist is missing and will be provided later. The dealer promised to install it within a quarter. More than a year went buy, and the service department recently told me that GM would not make the chip available, even tough new cars are now being delivered with the same chip.…

Owner report 11520667 · 2023-05-05 (May 5, 2023)

This is the second Chevrolet Suburban we have owned. In both cars, the middle seat of the 2nd and 3rd row bench seats are missing a head rest. This could result in a severe neck injury to the passenger in a car accident. How is Chevrolet allowed to roll out these cars from the factory with this obvious safety defect?

Recall history

4 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

22V617000 · Seat Belts:Critical Fasteners

Reported: 2022-08-11 (August 11, 2022)

General Motors, LLC (M) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles equipped with third-row seats. The rivet that retains the buckle to the mounting bracket in the left or right side third-row seat belt buckle assembly may have been improperly formed.

Consequence: A seat belt with a deformed rivet may not properly restrain an occupant, increasing the risk of injury during a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect the rivet head formation on both the left and right side third-row seat belt buckle assemblies and replace seat belt buckle assemblies, as necessary, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters informing owners of the safety risk were mailed September 28, 2022. Owner notification letters were mailed on November 1, 2022. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020; Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006; and GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N222372380.
