I RECENTLY WENT TO THE FIRESTONE DEALER IN LAKE ELSINORE, CA TO HAVE MY FIRESTONE TIRES INSPECTED DUE TO THE RECALL. THE SERVICE TECH THERE LOOKED AT ONE OF MY TIRES AND SAID THEIR NOT RECALL TIRES SO YOU'RE OK. I TOOK MY TRUCK TO ANOTHER TIRE DEALERSHIP AND THE TOLD ME THAT THREE OF THE FOUR TIRES ON MY TRUCK ARE READY TO COME APART. THREE OF THE FOUR HAVE INCREASES IN THEM, THE FIRESTONE TECH TOLD ME THAT IS WHERE THE BELT COMES TOGETHER AND THEY WILL USUALLY COME APART IF THERE ARE FOUR CREASES. DURING DRIVE TO WORK AT APPROX. 6:30 AM (TEMP=70 DEGREES) MY LEFT REAR TIRE CATOSTROPHICALLY FAILED. (NOTE: THIS TIRE WAS ORIGINAL FACTORY EQUIPMENT WHICH WAS NOT INSTALLED UNTILL APPROX 1999). I WAS ON I-75 BY TOLEDO,OHIO WHEN THE TIRE JUST BLEW OUT ON THE RIGHTSIDE REAR. THIS WAS ON A CURVE . I WAS IN THE CENTER LANE AND I WAS FIGHTING TO CONTROL IT AND JUST MISSED A SEMI.
