DT: CONSUMER OWNS A 1993 CHEVROLET W/T HALF TON PICKUP TRUCK . THE SPARE TIRE FELL OFF WHILE PARKED IN A PARKING LOT. THE CONSUMER DETERMINED THIS HAPPENED BECAUSE THE CABLE THAT HOLDS THE SPARE TIRE IS RUSTED. THE CONSUMER WENT TO THE GM DEALER, AND THE DEALER SAID THERE WERE NO RECALLS AND NO REPLACEMENT WAS OFFERED. THE CONSUMER CONTACTED THE GM MANUFACTURER AND THEY OFFERED NO REMEDY AS WELL. THEY WOULD FORWARD THE INFORMATION TO THEIR ENGINEERING STAFF. THEY DID RECOMMEND REPLACING THE CABLE WITH A SAFER ONE; THEY HAVE NEW ONES OFF…

WHILE DRIVING LEFT REAR (BRIDGESTONE DUELER APT LT215/75R15) TIRE EXPERIENCED TIRE SEPARATION, DRIVER WAS UNABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE AND OVERSTEERED TO THE LEFT LANE CAUSING VEHICLE TO ROTATE IN A COUNTER-CLOCKWISE DIRECTION,GOING ACROSS THE NORTH BOUND LANES, THEN DRIVING UP ON THE RAISED CONCRETE BARRIER AND THEN OVERTURNING BACK ON TO THE NORTH BOUND TRAVEL LANES AND THEN SLIDING TO A STOP, CONSUMER SUSTAIN INJURIES. *JB
