I cold started the motorcycle and while waiting for a security gate to open the engine suddenly quit. I hit the starter and it immediately restarted. Then after I pulled out into traffic the engine died again. Fortunately I was in the right hand lane and again hit the starter and the engine again immediately restarted. By this time I knew I had a serious problem. Trying to get to a traffic light to make a u-turn back to where I store the bike the engine suddenly, again without any warning, died a third time while traveling at around 35 mph …

26V575000 · Electrical System: Instrument Cluster/Panel

Reported: 2026-09-07 (September 7, 2026)

Bombardier Recreational Products, Inc. (BRP) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Can-Am Origin, Can-Am Pulse, 2025-2027 Can-Am Canyon, 2024-2027 Can-Am Spyder RT, and Can-Am Spyder F3 motorcycles equipped with a touchscreen instrument cluster. The instrument cluster may reset, freeze, or go blank. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 123, "Motorcycle Control and Displays," and FMVSS number 122, "Motorcycle Brake Systems."

Consequence: An inoperative instrument cluster will fail to display critical safety information, such as vehicle speed and warning lights, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: The instrument cluster software will be updated over-the-air (OTA) or by a dealer, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 12, 2026. Owners may contact BRP customer service at 1-888-272-9222. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning September 22, 2026.
