TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CAN-AM SPYDER F3. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH OVER A BUMP IN THE ROAD, THE RETURNER BOLT BECAME DETACHED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO COAST THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHERE IT WAS TOWED TO I MOTOR SPORT (334 WEST GRANT, ELM HURST, IL 60126, [phone removed]). THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE RETURNER BOLT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000.

22V352000 · Power Train:Manual Transmission

Reported: 2022-05-18 (May 18, 2022)

Bombardier Recreational Products, Inc. (BRP) is recalling certain 2015-2019 Can-Am Spyder F3 and RT motorcycles. The front sprocket may be defective and prematurely wear, resulting in a loss of drive power.

Consequence: A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will perform an interim repair until parts become available. Once parts are available, the front sprocket will be replaced, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 26, 2022. Owners may contact BRP customer service at 1-888-272-9222.
