CONSUMER'S WIFE TOOK VEHICLE TO THE CAR WASH. WHEN THE JOB WAS DONE SHE ENTERED THE VEHICLE, PUT IT IN DRIVE, AND WITHOUT PLACING FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR THE VEHICLE TOOK OFF, RIGHT OUT INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. CONSUMER PUT FOOT ON THE BRAKES, BUT VEHICLE KEPT RACING. CONSUMER WAS FINALLY ABLE TO BRING VEHICLE UNDER CONTROL. CONSUMER STATED THAT HIS WIFE WAS ALMOST KILLED BECAUSE OF THIS INCIDENT. RE: RECALL CAMPAIGN NO 14V-428 I RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER FROM BMW IN SEPT 2014 REGARDING FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. I HAVE CONTACTED MY LOCAL BMW DEALER A DOZEN TIMES IN THE PAST 5 MONTHS BUT THEY KEEP TELLING ME THAT THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE. THEY SUPPOSEDLY PUT ME ON A WAITING LIST 3 MONTHS AGO. HOWEVER, THEY CANNOT TELL ME WHERE I STAND ON THE WAITING LIST AND FOR HOW MUCH LONGER IT MAY TAKE. *TR
