Reported: 2024-01-26 (January 26, 2024)
Blue Bird Body Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2024 Vision buses. The parking brake secondary release mechanism may malfunction and allow the lever to be released without pressing the release button.
Consequence: A parking brake malfunction may result in a vehicle roll-away, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealer will inspect and replace service brake lever as needed, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 04, 2024. Owners may contact Blue Bird customer service at 1-478-822-2242.

Reported: 2024-10-11 (October 11, 2024)
Blue Bird Body Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2020-2024 All American and 2021-2024 Vision transit buses. The emergency exit label operating instructions lettering is too small and may be difficult to read. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release."
Consequence: An emergency exit label that is difficult to read can prevent or delay the use of the emergency exit, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the label, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 9, 2024. Owners may contact Blue Bird Customer Service at 478-822-2242. Blue Bird's number for this recall is R23CK (NSB).

Reported: 2025-09-23 (September 23, 2025)
Blue Bird Bus Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2021-2026 Vision school buses. The brake interlock software may unintentionally activate the parking brake at any driving speed.
Consequence: A bus that stops suddenly without warning, increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will update the brake interlock software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 18, 2025. Owners may contact Blue Bird customer service at 1-478-822-2242. Blue Bird's number for this recall is R25DS.

Reported: 2026-07-20 (July 20, 2026)
Blue Bird Bus Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2022-2027 Vision transit buses. The exhaust hanger cotter pin may contact the hydraulic brake line, damaging the line and causing a brake fluid leak.
Consequence: A brake fluid leak in the presence of an ignition source such as hot engine or exhaust components can increase the risk of a fire. Additionally, a brake fluid leak can extend the distance required to stop, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the exhaust hanger cotter pin. Dealers will also inspect and replace the brake lines as necessary. All repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 18, 2026. Owners may contact Blue Bird customer service at 1-478-822-2242.

Reported: 2026-08-10 (August 10, 2026)
Blue Bird Body Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2023-2027 Vision Transit Buses. The 12V power wire on one of the harnesses may become damaged and short circuit.
Consequence: An electrical short can cause a disruption to safety functions such as a loss of rear lighting or instrument panel warning lights, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will add an in-line fuse and repair the wire harnesses as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 9, 2026. Owners may contact Blue Bird customer service at 1-478-822-2242. Blue Bird's number for this recall is R26AG.
