I am filing a complaint concerning my recent experience with the Audi service department located in San Rafael, California. On May 24, 2021 I brought my 2019 Audi A4 in for service due to an error message stating, "Front parking aid: malfunction! Obstacles cannot be detected". The front passenger airbag light goes on and off randomly whenever if there is someone sits at the front passenger seat. The problem is exactly same as described in Recall 21V874000. Audi A4 2019 is on the list of recall, but my car wasn't been recalled for no reason.

Audi Presense kicked in so violently on the 280E freeway towards NYC from Northern NJ, that my 15 y/o son now has a significant cervical spine injury, necessitating medical evaluation and treatment. The brakes were so abruptly applied by Presense that we thought we had been hit by a car, but had not been in an accident. This is very dangerous, and now my son is injured, despite no accident occurring.

Owner of 2019 A4 recently purchased from dealership after lease expired in Feb.2023. Currently with only 36,800 miles, took vehicle to inspect on Nov.24th and nothing but a front light replacement and suggestion of new tires in inspection video. The factory warranty due to expire the following week, Dec. 2nd 2023, and I was inquiring as to cost of extending warranty, but di not purchase, was waiting until after holidays. Vehicle was inspected at 50,000 miles by the dealer and report says that passenger side motor mount was leaking. They also said that the motor mount will deteriorate rapidly and will affect the safety of the vehicle.

The turbocharger wastegate actuator failed suddenly at highway speeds, causing loss of engine power and making it extremely difficult to maintain highway speeds. The warnings that suddenly appeared caused the cruise control to cease working as well. The dealership (Audi Miami South by The Collection) inspected the vehicle and confirmed the wastegate actuator seized, requiring a complete replacement of the turbocharger. The vehicle has 53,000 miles.

21V874000 · Air Bags:Sensor:Occupant Classification:Front Passenger | Seats
Reported: 2021-11-10 (November 10, 2021)
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Audi) is recalling certain 2017-2020 A4 Allroad, A4 Sedan, 2018-2019 RS5 Coupe, 2019 RS5 Sportback, 2018-2020 A5 Cabriolet, A5 Coupe, A5 Sportback, S4 Sedan, S5 Cabriolet, S5 Coupe, and Audi S5 Sportback vehicles. The cable connecting the seat heater to the Passenger Occupant Detection System (PODS) may have a contact fault, causing the software to misdiagnose a malfunction and disable the passenger air bag.
Consequence: A disabled passenger air bag increases the risk of injury in the event of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the connecting cable and either the heating mat or entire seat cover, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 7, 2022. Owners may contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Audi's number for this recall is 74E3. This recall is an expansion of Recall 19V-547 (74D9). Vehicles previously repaired under 19V-547 will need to return for the new remedy.
