Owner report 11568378 · 2024-01-28 (January 28, 2024)

Bought in September 2023, within the first month, it started making a clunking noise when the wheel was turned to the left. The noise continued to get louder and started to make the same noise when turning right. In November, I got in my vehicle and it wouldn’t start. The dash and everything was flashing and making a cranking noise. I took it to the nearest dealership. They “charged” my battery and said it was fine. Also stated the noise was a heat shield issue and they fixed it. As soon as I pulled out of dealership, it still made the noise. T…

Owner report 11603075 · 2024-07-18 (July 18, 2024)

1. Transmission issues with slippage, response. Issues where when going from reverse into drive taking 2-3 seconds to engage. Issues coming from a stop to going as well whereas there’s a hesitation with propulsion. 2. Safety has been at risk numerous times when pulling into heavily trafficked areas. Response to pedal should not have a 1-2 second hesitation, but it does and it’s sporadic. Can no longer back into locations where it may be important to put it into drive and move fast, a 3 second delay is a long time when you’re not moving and som…

Owner report 11564084 · 2024-01-08 (January 8, 2024)

The hood vibrates at 50mph on the back 1/4 th closest to the windshield. It’s very distracting while driving. I also had an incident where adaptive cruise control in light rain did not appropriately anticipate traffic up head and I had to slam the brakes myself.

Owner report 11620395 · 2024-10-17 (October 17, 2024)

The contact owns a 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle suddenly lost motive power. However, upon releasing, and then reapplying pressure to the accelerator pedal, the vehicle returned to normal functionality. Afterward, a message was displayed indicating that both the accelerator and brake pedals were being depressed simultaneously. The contact also stated that later, after dropping his son off for school, the seat belt warning light illuminated indicating that a passenger was…

Owner report 11603069 · 2024-07-18 (July 18, 2024)

Starting off from a stop or at low speeds the vehicle loses all power. Engine stumbles and does not respond, when it happens it almost feels like the engine may stall. Pressing the accelerator and the vehicle will not move, then suddenly will start to go seconds later. This has almost resulted in a crash since the vehicle loses all propulsion unexpectedly. No warning lights. Took to the dealer twice and everything is “normal” no codes stored.

Owner report 11603070 · 2024-07-18 (July 18, 2024)

**Vehicle:** Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid Max **Issue:** On high-temperature days, when the A/C is running at full capacity, the vehicle occasionally fails to accelerate from a stop. This issue persists even after applying the recommended ECM update. **Safety Concern:** The lack of reliable acceleration poses a significant safety risk, particularly when turning across oncoming traffic or entering a busy street. This situation can leave the vehicle stalled in the path of approaching vehicles, increasing the likelihood of an accident. **Acti…

Owner report 11581132 · 2024-04-04 (April 4, 2024)

Toyota is having issues filling up the tank as the specs says (Owners manual book). According to the Owners manual book, the Gas tank of these vehicles are 17.2 Gallons and 2.6 of those are saved for the reserved. In theory, we should have 14.6 Gallons to fill-up as soon as we see the "Empty sign" on the vehicles. Now, the thing is that even after this happens, we can only fill-out up to 11.5 gallons. I have tried several times, saving the history on FUELLY, and its always the same. I have asked the dealership and they don't know what to do. …

Owner report 11591419 · 2024-05-29 (May 29, 2024)

The fuel tank capacity according to the vehicle specifications should be 17gallons. I have refilled the vehicle three times after reaching empty (around 20mi left according to the gauge), and when I fill the tank it only takes about 11 gallons to fill. That is a significant difference. Even with a reserve, I should be putting around 15 gallons in the tank when it is on empty to fill it. I am concerned that the tank is not the correct size or there is a problem with the fuel level sensor.

Owner report 11570742 · 2024-02-08 (February 8, 2024)

I purchased the car in the middle of September 2023. Within a week of owning I noticed that there was a clicking sound under the steering wheel when I started to turn to the RIGHT from a stop. Several weeks later the clicking sound began when I made a turn to the LEFT from a stop as well. It happened all the time and gradually became louder. When I took the car in for the 5000 mile service and reported the sound, I was told that Toyota was going to change both front axles. The service manager could not tell me what the problem with the car was …

Owner report 11608805 · 2024-08-15 (August 15, 2024)

Toyota has issued a STOP SALE and RECALL on the airbags in this vehicle. There is no anticipated time for resolution but rumors indicate it might be October. During this time the airbags would not deploy if you are driving with the front windows down as it affects both driver and passenger side. We bought this car with the expectation of quality and my confidence is not high given Toyota has also issued recalls on engines in the Tundra. I have contacted Toyota Customer Care, a case was created and I was directed to the dealership for any ad…
