Owner report 10597778 · 2014-06-11 (June 11, 2014)

DRIVING HOME FROM A CAMPOUT IN TEMECULA, CA (APPROXIMATE DATE), THE MAIN COACH SLIDEOUT EXTENDED ON ROUTE 15 SOUTH A TOTAL OF 12". THIS WAS IN HEAVY TRAFFIC WITH SEMI'S IN BOTH ADJACENT LANES. PASSENGER LEFT SEAT AND ACTIVATED SLIDE RETRACT SWITCH. COACH HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP ON AND OFF UNTIL PRESENT DAY. THUS FAR THERE HAS BEEN NO FIX. FOR THE LAST YEAR THE PROBLEM HAS CONTINUED UNTIL THE ONGOING PROBLEM RESULTED IN DESTRUCTION OF THE INTERIOR OF THE COACH, WHICH WAS THE ONLY IMPEDIMENT TO FULL EXTENSION OF THE SLIDE WHILE DRIVING. WE WERE PULLING INTO A GAS STATION WHEN THE ENGINE SHUT OFF AND WE HAD NO CONTROL OVER THE MOTORHOME. AFTER A PERIOD OF TIME THE COACH STARTED AND WE WENT ON OUR WAY. AN HOUR LATER UPON ARRIVING BACK HOME PULLING INTO THE STORAGE FACILITY WHERE WE KEEP THE COACH IT SHUT OFF AGAIN AND WE WERE ABLE TO ROLL TO A STOP. I CALLED THOR MOTOR COMPANY AS I WAS REALLY UPSET THEY INFORMED ME THAT THERE WAS A RECALL AND THEY DID NOT KNOW WHY WE NEVER RECEIVED A NOTICE. I INFORMED THEM THAT THERE IS SOME THING WRONG WITH THIS COACH AND I WAS AFRAID TO GET I…

Owner report 11752836 · 2026-07-25 (July 25, 2026)

On [XXX] I bought an RV from Camping World in CO. At the time of purchase I was not informed that any of the tires installed on the vehicle were retread tires, nor was I advised that a retread tire 245/70R19.5 had been installed on the front steering axle of a passenger vehicle. On [XXX] while traveling from Arizona back to Colorado the front passenger-side tire suffered a catastrophic failure when the tread separated from the tire. The failure occurred while we were descending a 6% mountain grade with 3 adults & 1 child onboard. When the tread…

THE RADIO (AND CAMERA SYSTEM) HAD BEEN ACTING STRANGELY AND MY CIGARETTE OUTLETS STOPPED WORKING WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I STOPPED FOR THE NIGHT AND HAD PARKED AND CONNECTED THE RV TO THE CAMPGROUND POWER. ABOUT 10 MINUTES AFTER PARKING AND HOOKING UP I STARTED TROUBLE SHOOTING THE LOSS OF POWER TO THE CIGARETTE LIGHTERS. I CHECKED THE FUSE AND DID NOT SEE ANY VISIBLE FAILURE OF THE FUSE BUT DECIDED TO TRY A BRAND NEW FUSE JUST IN CASE. AFTER REPLACING THE FUSE FOR THE CIGARETTE LIGHTERS, A FIRE STARTED IN THE AREA OF THE RADIO AND CIGARETTE L…

IN SAME STATES IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PUT GAS INTO THE TANK WITHOUT USING A FUNNEL. THIS CAUSES THE GAS TO SPLASH BACK SOAKING THE 2 PEOPLE IT TAKES TO PUT FUEL IN. THE REASON THIS HAPPENS IS THAT THERE IS NOT ROOM FOR THE GAS NOZZLE TO FIT DOWN INTO THE LINE TO THE GAS TANK. IN OTHER STATES IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO GET THE NOZZLE IN, BUT POSSIBLE. WHEN WE APPROACHED THOR ABOUT IT THEY TOLD US IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THEY WOULD DO NOTHING ABOUT IT. WE LIVE IN COLORADO (A DIFFICULT BUT NOT IMPOSSIBLE STATE) AND TRAVELED TO CALIFORNIA (AN IMPOSSIB…
