DRIVING OUR NEW 2015 THOR FOUR WINDS 26A MOTORHOME ON THE EXPRESSWAY - OVER 45-50 MPH --WAS ABSOLUTELY UNSAFE. THE MOTORHOME WAS ALL OVER THE ROAD. MY HUSBAND AND I HAD TO KEEP A "DEATH GRIP" ON THE STEERING WHEEL IN ORDER TO TRY TO KEEP THE MOTORHOME ON THE ROAD! WE LIKENED IT TO STEERING A LARGE RUBBER BALL (SWAYING WITH A MAJOR AMT OF PLAY IN THE STEERING WHEEL). AFTER ANOTHER ISSUE WITH A LEAK IN OUR ENGINE COMPARTMENT WHICH CAUSED FORD TO TOW THE MOTORHOME TO A FORD LG TRUCK DEALER; WE HAD THE FORD CHASIS ALIGNED -- HOPING THAT IT WOUL…

Owner report 11422162 · 2021-06-24 (June 24, 2021)

When driving with cruise control on and encounter a slight side wind or even a grade change in road surface where the coach is not perfectly level the cruise will quit and hill decent light comes on, will not rest until it is shut off for 10 min or so. It is a issue with steering angle sensor, I can be driving perfectly straight but if the steering wheel is turned off center for more than a half mile or so even though going straight , the cruise will quit. it can happen multiple times in a 300 mile trip, may not even work for the whole trip. or…

Owner report 11110326 · 2018-07-09 (July 9, 2018)

THE FOLLOWING ISSUE IS COMMON TO THE THOR MOTOR COACH WHICH IS BUILT ON THE F550 CHASSIS AS IS ATTESTED TO IN NUMEROUS RECREATIONAL VEHICLE (RV) FORUMS. THIS ISSUE IS DURING REFUELING THE AUTOMATIC SHUT OFF FROM THE FUEL NOZZLE CONSTANTLY SHUTS OFF. THE OPERATOR IS REQUIRED TO STAND THERE AND SLOWLY FILL THE TANK AND EVEN THEN THE AUTOMATIC SHUT OFF SHUTS OFF MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE FUEL TANK IS FULL. THE RESULT IS THAT THE FUEL TANK OVERFILLS AND THE FUEL SPEWS FORTH FROM THE FILLER NECK ALL OVER THE GROUND AND THE OPERAT…

Owner report 11686957 · 2025-09-12 (September 12, 2025)

The contact owns a 2018 Thor Motor Coach Four Winds Motorhome constructed on a 2017 Ford E-350 Chassis and hauling a 17-foot cargo trailer. The contact stated that while traveling to another state in the mountains, the RV suddenly began to buck and lost motive power and stalled on several occasions. The contact was able to pull over safely. There were no warning lights illuminated. The RV was taken to an independent mechanic who determined that the fuel module needed to be replaced. The RV was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. A mobile RV m…

[XXX] U.S. Army), Active-Duty Service Member (Stationed at Fort Knox, KY / Residing in Brandenburg, KY) I am reporting a severe structural manufacturing defect involving the room slide-out assembly on the driver-side flank of the vehicle body. Certified diagnostic testing and structural tolerance layouts executed by the component manufacturer, Lippert (LCI Case #[XXX]), and servicing dealership technicians (Camping World) have confirmed that the main slide-out housing and framing elements were installed, aligned, and integrated completely out …

Owner report 11472757 · 2022-07-07 (July 7, 2022)

A recall had been done and thought to be corrected earlier this year, but we just heard a pop as we were pulling into our driveway and I immediately lost power steering and brakes stopped working seconds later. The connection to the Dot 4 tank came undone and all the fluid leaked out. If this had happened while we were driving down the highway I hate to think what could have happened. I am fearful to drive this RV in the future if the recall was fixed and it failed anyway. AAA will be towing the RV to the closest Ford Dealership today for repai…
