The problem involves severe condensation buildup within the headlight assembly, leading to water damage and electrical failures. VEHICLE HAS AUTO ENGINE OFF WHEN STOPPED. FEATURE IS ON BY DEFAULT. DRIVER MUST REMEMBER TO CUT FEATURE OFF EACH TIME VEHICLE IS CRANKED. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THIS FEATURE HAS BEEN HAZARDOUS. WHEN STOPPING ON OPEN ROAD TO TURN ACROSS TRAFFIC THE STEERING WHEEL BINDS WHEN POWER IS LOST. WHEN IN LINE AT DRIVE THRUS OR IN SLOW TRAFFIC, VEHICLE LUNGES AS THE ENGINE STARTS BACK. THE DEFAULT FOR THIS FEATURE SHOULD BE OFF. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND WE ARE TOLD BY DEALER DECISION WAS IN RESPONSE TO SUPPORT PUBLISHED EPA FUEL STANDARDS.
