Owner report 11340299 · 2020-07-20 (July 20, 2020)

BRAKES ON 2019 AND EARLIER ARE "MUSHY". IN AN EMERGENCY STOP BRAKES DO NOT STOP THE VEHICLE PROPERLY. BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL IS EXCESSIVE AND PUSHING PEDAL FARTHER, WHILE IN MOTION, DOES NOT INCREASE BRAKING FORCE. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE TO NISSAN, AND UPON TAKING THE VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP, IT WAS STATED THAT THIS COMPLAINT IS NORMAL OPERATION FOR FRONTIER BRAKES.

Owner report 11527218 · 2023-06-15 (June 15, 2023)

The contact owns a 2019 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the transmission became inoperable. The contact stated that the vehicle was hacked, and that the steering wheel was moving independently. The brakes were applied without the brake pedal being depressed. The vehicle revved unintendedly, the radio randomly turned on, and the vehicle was being controlled by an unknown source. There were no warning lights illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. …

Owner report 11322259 · 2020-04-26 (April 26, 2020)

AFTER 9/19 PURCHASE, FOUND THAT USING AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION GEAR SELECTOR FROM PARK INTO DRIVE INTERMITTENTLY REFLECTED '4' ON THE DASHBOARD AND WOULD NOT ENGAGE INTO THE SELECTED GEAR. I FOUND THAT I HAD TO EITHER RETURN THE SHIFTER TO THE 'P' POSITION AND/OR RETURN TO THE 'P' POSITION FOLLOWED BY TURNING THE ENGINE OFF BEFORE REATTEMPTING. OVERALL, SOUNDS EMANATING FROM THE TRANSMISSION DURING TRANSITIONING TO/FROM A SELECTED GEAR AFTER STOPPING PRODUCES CLEARLY UNNERVING 'CLUNKING' SOUNDS.

Owner report 11630557 · 2024-12-13 (December 13, 2024)

Issue: engine and electric system completely shut off randomly while vehicle is driving. Cannot reliably reproduce, but all electric is lost and engine shuts off or at best resets in low gear until things come back alive. This has happened about 4 times to me across two batteries. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The system is blaming the "battery current sensor" and I believe it is the system that controls the "dynamic" alternator system. How was your safety or the safety of o…

Owner report 11707810 · 2025-12-30 (December 30, 2025)

We have three 2019 Nissan Frontier pickups in our fleet that have all recently had the same problem. A engine valve misfire on cylinder 3 on all three trucks. This has caused the trucks to shake, idle rough, and have loss of power while driving. Two independent mechanics have inspected the trucks and have replaced multiple parts to try and fix the problem, however, it has been recommended that all three trucks have the engine replaced. The check engine light did activate on the dash when the problem first began in each truck.
