WHEN USING ENGINE JAKE BRAKE THE REAR BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ACTIVATED. GOING DOWN A LONG GRADE THE VEHICLES BEHIND ME SEE MY BRAKE LIGHTS ON PERHAPS FOR SEVERAL MILES. IF I NEED TO USE MY CHASSIS BRAKES TO SLOW FOR SOMETHING IN FRONT OF ME THERE IS NO SIGNAL GIVEN TO THE FOLLOWING VEHICLES. TWICE I HAVE EXPERIENCED A NEAR REAR END COLLISION FROM A SEMI BEHIND ME WHO DID NOT RECEIVE A SIGNAL THAT I WAS PHYSICALLY SLOWING DOWN FROM THE ACCUSTOMED TRAVEL SPEED. TRAVELING DOWN A MOUNTAIN GRADE AT 50 PLUS MILES PER HOUR THERE IS VERY LITTLE REACTION TIM…
