The contact's son owned a 2020 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel seized and the vehicle lost motive power. The contact's son was able to restart the vehicle, drove to a local convenience store, and parked the vehicle. The contact was exiting the convenience store and noticed a fire exiting from the front hood of the vehicle.
