The contact owns a 2017 Mini Countryman. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle cabin was emitting a smoke odor. The contact stated the rear passenger side taillight malfunction warning message was displayed. The contact mentioned that the socket was melted when he replaced the rear passenger bulb. WHEN STOPPED THE BRAKE PEDAL SLOWLY GOES TO THE FLOORBOARDS. SOMETIMES I HAVE TO REPEATEDLY PUMP THE BRAKE PEDAL WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT TO PREVENT RUNNING INTO THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. TOOK IT TO A DEALERSHIP AND THEY DROVE THE CAR BUT COULDN'T FINE ANY PROBLEMS. THE MASTER CYLINDER LEAK DOWN IS GETTING PROGRESSIVELY WORSE WITH TIME. I BELIEVE THAT I AM QUALIFIED TO WRITE ABOUT THIS AS I WAS, WHEN YOUNGER, A TOP MECHANIC FOR PORSCHE AND VOLKSWAGEN.

I PURCHASED MY CAR FOR SCHOOL AND TO COMMUTE TO WORK FROM NEW JERSEY TO CONNECTICUT AND SINCE THE DAY I PURCHASED MY CAR, I HAD NOT ONCE FELT SAFE IN MY OWN CAR. I TOWED MY CAR IN 3 TIMES (9/15/18, 4/8/19, AND 6/10/19) BECAUSE MY STEERING WHEEL WOULD LOCK UP AND FREEZE. IT WAS LIKE DRIVING A VEHICLE WITH THE ENGINES OFF. NON-DRIVEABLE INSTANCES WERE 3 TIMES. The vehicle brakes during turns in the road when it is inappropriate. Has led to braking almost to a stop on the highway in one incident and could possibly cause a rear end collision. It has done this around 30 times in the past year of owning the vehicle and has begun to cause anxiety on the road due to not knowing when it will activate. It also has not warned during near front end collisions when it should have.
