WHILE DRIVING, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE STARTED MAKING A ROCKING NOTHING, DID NOT KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON AND SO I STOPPED VEHICLE ON THE SHOULDER. I CHECKED THE GAS TANK TO SEE IF THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE COVER. WENT BACK IN THE VEHICLE AND TRIED TO RESTART, VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. I CALLED THE TOW TRUCK AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER. SPENT $576. FOR DIAGNOSIS AND WAS INITIALLY TOLD THAT THE CYLINDER HEAD WAS BENT AND THE INTAKE MANIFOLD HAD A PROBLEM. 2008 MERCEDES BENZ ML63. CONSUMER STATES PROBLEMS WITH GASOLINE LEAK AND FUEL GAUGE INDICATOR *TGW WHILE DRIVING ON A COLD RAINY DAY, GAS FUMES GRADUALLY FILLED THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. THE WINDOWS WERE ROLLED UP AND THE HEATER WAS ON AT THE TIME. SHORTLY AFTER, THE GAS GAUGE INDICATOR BEGAN TO APPROACH EMPTY MUCH FASTER THAN USUAL. ABOUT AN HOUR LATER, WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE CONSUMER NOTICED GAS FLOWING ON THE GROUND AROUND THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND AN INSPECTION REVEALED A RUPTURE IN THE GAS TANK.…

VEHICLE IN MOTION ON FREEWAY, LOST POWER AND SEVERAL CARS RAN OFF THE ROAD TO AVOID MY VEHICLE AS IT SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND SLOWED DOWN WITHOUT WARNING. VEHICLE SAT AND COULD NOT BE DRIVEN FASTER THEN 25 MILES AS IT WAS STUCK IN LIMP MODE (UNABLE TO GET OUT OF FIRST GEAR). A CODE DISPLAYED SHOWING THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE HAD FAILED. AN INTERNET SEARCH FOUND THOUSANDS OF OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND THE TCM ON MERCEDES ARE KNOWN TO ALL GO FAULTY AFTER WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED.
