Owner report 747289 · 2001-06-23 (June 23, 2001)

WHILE DRIVING 40 TO 50 MILES PER HOUR, THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION STARTED TO SHIFT GEARS (UP AND DOWN VIOLENTLY) LURCHING AND BUCKING. I ALSO NOTICED THAT THE OVERDRIVE OFF-LIGHT WAS FLASHING. I PUSHED THE OVERDRIVE SWITCH REPEATEDLY WITHOUT RESULTS. I STOPPED THE TRUCK AND SHUT IT OFF AND THEN RESTARTED IT, AND THEN THE VEHICLE RESET. ERROR CODE P0741 BUT NO PROBLEM FOUND OR FIXED. DEALERS SERVICE INVOICE # MACS94327. TOLD, IF PROBLEM PERSIST WILL AT THAT TIME POSSIBLY NEED TCC SOLENOID.

Owner report 749351 · 2001-07-27 (July 27, 2001)

IT HAS CUT OUT ON FOUR OCCASIONS WHEN THE TRANSMISSION IS IN NEUTRAL. THREE TIMES SITTING IN TRAFFIC WHERE THE DRIVER WAS UNAWARE UNTIL PUTTING VEHICLE IN GEAR TO TAKE OFF. THE OTHER OCCASION WAS WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN WITH THE CLUTCH IN AND SUDDENLY THE POWER STEERING WAS GONE SINCE THE TRUCK WAS NOT RUNNING. MAZDA HAS NO IDEA OF WHAT PROBLEM IS AND EXPECTS OWNER TO CONTINUE DRIVING UNDER THESE CONDITIONS. HAS BEEN TO DEALER THREE TIMES FOR CONDITION AND EXAMINED BY FACTORY REPRESENTATIVE. *AK
