Owner report 11503285 · 2023-01-23 (January 23, 2023)
Incident 1: While driving to work, accelerated to pass a car on the right going approx 45 MPH. The dash showed a RED "Drive System Fault" and the car would no longer accelerate. The steering was fine and I changed to the left lane. After approximately 5 seconds, the dash and all internal screens when blank. I was able to pull off the main road to the entrance of a housing development and coasted to a stop about 20 feet off the main road. There was no power to turn on the flashers to warning other drivers existing the main road. Total tim…

Owner report 11484559 · 2022-09-15 (September 15, 2022)
My vehicle was in the garage and the drive train failed. No other details were provided to me by the manufacturer. There have been at least four other reports, in which vehicles were on the road when this occurred and the vehicles shutdown with little to no time to find a safe spot to pull over. This seems to be an issue with either the main EV battery or the 12V accessory battery.

Owner report 11484693 · 2022-09-15 (September 15, 2022)
The contact owns a 2022 Lucid Air. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed in inclement weather, there was a lightning strike in close proximity, causing the vehicle to lose motive power. The vehicle inadvertently rebooted and the contact was able to park the vehicle next to a residential garage; however, after turning off the vehicle, the vehicle was unable to be restarted. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that a battery pack had short-circuited and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repa…

Owner report 11494228 · 2022-11-19 (November 19, 2022)
Seat moved into the full forward and full forward tilt position without warning pinning my knees against the lower dash and my chest against the steering wheel. The manual override buttons on the side of the seat were inoperable to stop the movement. Fortunately this happened prior to leaving the garage. If it would have happened on the highway I would not have been able to control the car. Car is currently not driveable.

Owner report 11741749 · 2026-06-03 (June 3, 2026)
My 2023 Lucid Air Touring experienced a rearview camera/display failure while reversing, resulting in a backing collision and rear bumper damage. The main display/rearview image went blank or became unavailable during an active reverse maneuver, and the vehicle did not provide effective visual guidance or rear safety alerts before impact. This failure is consistent with NHTSA Recall 26V017 / Lucid SR-26-01-0, which concerns the rearview camera image not displaying when the vehicle is shifted into reverse, increasing the risk of a crash. Lucid …

Owner report 11761751 · 2026-09-02 (September 2, 2026)
While travelling to California on a personal trip my vehicle displayed a "Battery System Fault" warning message on the driver's display and advised me to stop the vehicle in a safe location within 120 seconds. After pulling off the highway onto the shoulder of an exit ramp and stopping the vehicle it would not longer shift into drive and displayed a "Vehicle Not Driveable" warning message. -I was told by the manufacturer that the AC compressor had failed, causing damage to other components and leading to a loss of high voltage isolation. -The …

Owner report 11544709 · 2023-09-15 (September 15, 2023)
2022 Lucid Air suffered a total loss of power without any warning at approximately 10 PM on July 29, 2023, while driving 65+ mph on the Jersey Turnpike. The car’s dashboard suddenly flashed “System Failure” and immediately started to decelerate. I had approximately 30 seconds to weave across 2 lanes of high speed traffic as the car steadily lost speed and fortunately there was a shoulder just wide enough for the car before it totally stopped forward progress. We could not exit the car as the passenger side was up against a 3 foot cement barr…
