TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2008 LEXUS LS600HL. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, HE DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND HEARD A GRINDING NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE BRAKE PAD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE WHEEL BEARING HUB ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.

THERE IS A CLICKING OR POPPING SOUND COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE CAR. THIS HAPPENS ANYTIME WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES, AND WHEN STOPPED AT A LIGHT WITH THE BRAKES APPLIED. THE FREQUENCY OF THE NOISE HAS INCREASED WITH A SENSATION UNDER YOUR FOOT. I'M NOT SURE IF THIS WILL LEAD TO SOME TYPE OF ABS BRAKE FAILURE. I DID AN ONLINE SEARCH FOR THIS NOISE AND IT LOOKS TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE LS MODELS. NUMEROUS PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM. VGRS RECALL 10V218000 TOYOTA/LEXUS HAD A RECALL FOR 2009 AND UP MODELS OF THE LS VEHICLE FOR STEERING NOT RETURNING TO CENTER DURING DRIVING OPERATIONS OR COMPLETE LOCKED TURNS. WHICH CAN CAUSE A ACCIDENT. THIS RECALL SHOULD HAVE STARTED IN 2008 AND NOT JUST 2009 AND UP. 2008 THE LS460/600 FIRST DEBUTED. THE VGRS SYSTEM WAS INCORPORATED IN THESE VEHICLES AS WELL. 2008 WAS THE ACTUAL STARTING YEAR FOR THESE VEHICLES. NOW I AM DRIVING A 2008 LS AND THE STEERING KEEPINGS GOING OFF CENTER.
