The vehicle experiences a significant reduction in braking effectiveness when driven in rainy conditions, particularly during heavy rain. Brake response becomes inconsistent and unpredictable, requiring the driver to continually vary brake-pedal pressure in order to achieve the expected level of deceleration. The condition can result in substantially increased stopping distances and creates a serious risk of collision. The issue is intermittent and appears to be directly related to wet-weather operation.
