TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 JAYCO JAYFEATHER TRAILER. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE BRAKES LOCKED WHEN PRESSURE WAS APPLIED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THEY INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE BRAKE MAGNETS WERE INCORRECT. THE TECHNICIAN REPLACED THE FOUR BRAKE MAGNETS; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. UPDATED 12/29/10 *BF

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 JAYCO JAY FEATHER. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE TRAILER. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE TRAILER AS HAVING BRAKE FAILURE. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE BRAKES WERE COMPLETELY FRACTURED. THE TRAILER WAS REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,200.

The rear bunk end door on this 2017 Jayco Jay Feather X17Z hybrid travel trailer does not fully latch or lock while traveling at highway speeds due to a known widespread manufacturing defect. Jayco factory installed canvas retainer strips with no pre-drilled holes and no washers causing the plastic retainer strip to crack and fail. This caused the entire rear bunk end frame to shift out of alignment making it impossible for the door latch to fully engage while towing at highway speeds. On [XXX], my wife and I were driving northbound on [XXX] in Georgia, pulling our Jayco Feather Micro 166FBS travel trailer. It was early afternoon on a sunny day with moderately heavy traffic; we were traveling in the outside lane at approximately 65 mph. We were approximately 40 miles south of the South Carolina border when a car, then a semi, in quick order, waved us over. We did not feel or hear anything amiss on the trailer.
