I am a ASE Master Mechanic and I do my own servicing. Recently I had some bad tires and bought new ones. Since I had the wheels off, I performed a wheel bearing and brake inspection. The rear left wheel had some small wobbling. When I took off the bearing cap I noticed hardly any grease. I took the hub off and there was hardly any grease on the inside bearing also. I was troubleshooting a short in the electrical trailer brake circuit and found the cause: the wire had fallen into a crack in the frame crossmember which was chewing on it. Upon further examination, several frame stiffeners/crossmembers had cracked almost entirely through on both sides of the trailer. They cracked because during manufacturing, some goober decided it'd be a good idea to cut 95% of the web of the C-channel away to make holes 10x as large as they needed to be to run wires and slide motors.
