1999 JAGUAR XJR, THE CAR STALLED WHILE CRUISING BETWEEN 60 AND 70 MPH 3 TIMES IN 4 MONTHS. THE ENGINE WOULD QUIT. THE CAR WOULD NOT RESTART UNTIL I PULLED OVER PUT IT IN PARK AND STARTED IT. THIS MEANT A LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND THE BRAKES POSSIBLY FAILING IF THEY WERE USED TO MUCH. THE CAR WAS REPAIRED ON 2-16-04. THE THROTTLE BODY HAD DEVELOPED A GROVE WHERE THE THROTTLE PLATE CONTACTS THE BORE. THIS WAS CAUSING THE PROBLEM. THIS STALLING PUTS THE DRIVER IN A DANGEROUS POSITION ON THE HIGHWAY.
