TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 JAGUAR XF. WHILE THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO OPERATE. THE CONTACT SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER, BUT FAILED TO PROVIDE A DIAGNOSTIC. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,900.

On May 2, 2026, ten days after purchasing the vehicle, the driver‑side seatbelt locking mechanism failed while I was driving. The vehicle was inspected the next day at CarMax Tuscaloosa. Their mechanic confirmed two separate safety defects: 1. The driver‑side seatbelt mechanism requires replacement. 2. The motor mounts are broken/loose and require replacement. The contact's son owns a 2017 Jaguar XF. The contact stated that there was water inside the trunk of the vehicle where the battery was located. The contact was unaware of the location of the leak. The contact stated that the electrical wiring was corroded from the water intrusion. The contact was concerned that the electrical system might fail due to the failure. The contact's son reached out the manufacturer for assistance but had not receive a callback. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 62,000.
