MY HYUNDAI 2003 XG 350 HAD INCIDENTS OF LURCHING POWERFULLY FORWARD OR BACKWARD EVEN THOUGH MY FOOT WOULD BE PRESSED HARD ON THE BRAKES. IT HAPPENED THREE TIMES. THE THIRD TIME IT DID IT, I HAD IT IN REVERSE WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKES AND WHILE MY WIFE WAS TRYING TO ENTER THE CAR ON THE PASSENGER SEAT SIDE, THE CAR RABBIT JUMBED BACKWARD AND CAUSE HER INJURIES THAT WARRANTED TAKING HER TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM ON SEPTEMBER 12 2005. PURCHASED VEHICLE 9-5-03. FIRST OCCURRENCE OF VIOLENT ENGINE SURGES OCCURRED ON 9-18-03. DEALERSHIP COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM ,AND TOLD ME IT SHOULD BE OKAY. ENGINE SURGES/SHIFTS OCCURRED RANDOMLY OVER THE NEXT FEW MONTHS WITH ANOTHER DANGEROUS OCCURRENCE IN DECEMBER 2005 AT CROWDED SHOPPING MALL. WRITER HAS A 2003 SONATA. MY DRIVERS REAR CALIPER WOULD WEAR DOWN THE BRAKE PADS VERY FAST AND THE OTHERS WOULD BE LIKE NEW. AFTER 2 VISITS THE CALIPER WAS REPLACED. AFTER 2 DAYS OF SITTING IN THE GARAGE I'D BACK THE CAR UP AND HEAR GRINDING. THE DEALER SAID IT WAS JUST RUST ON THE ROTOR AND IT STOPPED AFTER DRIVING A FEW MINUTES.
