ABOUT TWO MONTHS AGO, MY HUSBAND WAS CLEANING MY BIKE WHEN HE NOTICED SOME DISCOLORATION ON THE ENGINE. UPON INVESTIGATION, HE FOUND THAT THE FUEL VALVE ON THE GAS TANK WAS DRIPPING GASOLINE. HE CONTACTED HONDA MOTORCYCLE CUSTOMER SERVICE TWICE AND BOTH TIMES WAS TOLD MY MOTORCYCLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AND THAT THE RECALL WAS VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER (VIN) SPECIFIC. DUE TO THE OBVIOUS SAFETY CONCERNS, I WENT AHEAD AND ORDERED A NEW OEM PART ON-LINE AND PAID FOR IT. MY HUSBAND SPENT TWO HOURS THIS WEEKEND REPLACING THE DEFECTIVE P…

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA SHADOW AERO VT750C. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP AT 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SHIFT INTO FIRST GEAR OR ANY OTHER GEAR. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING AND THE VEHICLE HAS NO HAZARD LIGHTS. THE VEHICLE WAS REAR-ENDED AND THE CONTACT RECEIVED INJURIES TO HIS BACK AND NECK. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA VT750 SHADOW AERO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE MOTORCYCLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE MOTORCYCLE RESTARTED; HOWEVER, THE MOTORCYCLE SPUTTERED ALL THE WAY TO THE RESIDENCE. ONCE PARKED, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT FUEL WAS LEAKING FROM THE FUEL CONTROL VALVE. THE MOTORCYCLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE PETCOCK VALVE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MOTORCYCLE WAS NOT REPAIRED.
