WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE DRIVER APPLIED THE BRAKES AND WITHOUT WARNING THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED. THE DRIVER APPLIED THE BRAKES BUT FAILED. THIS CAUSED THE DRIVER TO COLLIDE WITH THE VEHICLE IN FRONT. UPON, IMPACT BOTH FRONTAL AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED MAJOR INJURIES AND WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE CAUSE HAS NOT BEEN DETERMINED AT THIS TIME. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *NM

HONDA MOTORS CORPORATION RECENTLY SENT US A RECALL NOTICE FOR SUSPENSION BRACKETS THAT NEEDED TO BE REINFORCED BECAUSE OF SEVERE CORROSION TO THE AREAS AFFECTED. THEY REINFORCED THE BRACKETS WITH A BOLT KIT ON BOTH THE LEFT AND RIGHT HAND SIDES. HOWEVER, WHEN WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO OUR MAINTENANCE MECHANIC WHO DOES ALL OF OUR WORK ON OUR VEHICLES, HE INFORMED ME THAT THERE WAS STILL SAFETY ISSUES WITH CONSIDERABLE CORROSION TO THE SUSPENSION FRAMES AND SURROUNDING AREAS.
