Owner report 11476769 · 2022-07-31 (July 31, 2022)
In April 2022, my dad purchased a brand new Honda CRV 2022 hybrid touring edition. This car was deemed as one of the safest cars on the market and was his main intent while buying it. A couple of weeks ago this car was the prime suspect of a fire that impacted both the car and our house. Let me break down exactly how this occurred and where the blame should fall on this situation. When I was slowly backing out of my garage, I noticed that my car was not straight and that I needed to turn my wheel in order to straighten it out. When doing so, 3/…

Owner report 11488726 · 2022-10-11 (October 11, 2022)
Less than a year old and at 3207 miles, the vehicle would not start and showed absolutely no life. The 12v battery was completely drained and required a jump start. The battery did NOT go bad, has no dead cells and the charging system shows no issues when tested. Either the hybrid has a parasitic drain on the low-end battery or the hybrid system does not consider when the 12v battery is low, the gas engine needs to run for charging the 12v battery.

Owner report 11458307 · 2022-03-25 (March 25, 2022)
When driving between 45 and 50 miles per hour the vehicle did an automatic hard brake...luckily there was no one behind me. I have reported it to the dealer and have an appointment to have the system checked next week.

Owner report 11459049 · 2022-03-30 (March 30, 2022)
I was going south bound up a hill. Less then 20 mph and was blinded by the sun. The old folks in front of me were also blinded by the sun and stopped in the middle of the hill. My automatic emergency braking system did not kick in and I ran right into them. We could have been hurt. My car is being fixed in a collision repair shop now.

Owner report 11503446 · 2023-01-24 (January 24, 2023)
Brakes: loud squealing while in reverse and stop sign. Also steering and turning steering wheel. Fuel system looses power. Getting poor gas mileage. Rear windows tweet. Took to Vern Eide Honda on 12/08/22. Top certified mechanic looked at brakes steering and fuel system no problems found. Oil life dropped 20% in less than a month drive work and home. Less than 50 miles per day. Additional rear windows tweet and door handle squeak like rusty. Problem started in August of 2022 and is now 90%worse. Had also taken vehicle to Harr Honda on 1/16/23 t…

Owner report 11518676 · 2023-04-24 (April 24, 2023)
The front passenger side axle seal leaking transmission fluid. This leak caused a loss of transmission fluid which, if not discovered, could have caused sudden power loss and lockup of transmission. This would no doubt have caused a collision resulting in serious injury or death. I believe Honda is aware of this defect and has yet to issue a recall.

Owner report 11601759 · 2024-07-13 (July 13, 2024)
The steering wheel sticks when I'm in a gradual turn and doesn't want to return to center. I have to pull it out of the turn. A few times, I've actually veered out of my lane. Sounds like this is a known problem with the worm gear, and the gearbox needs replacing. I have an appointment with my dealer to troubleshoot it. Owner report 11662864 · 2025-05-23 (May 23, 2025)
life Safety Issue! Four times since Feb. 2025 the check engine light comes on and the car loses power and goes into limp mode. The car has been to the Honda Mall of Georgia service department 3 times, and they are unable to determine the problem because no error codes are ever found. On 4-24-2025 they recommended a valve adjustment as a possible fix which I agreed to and paid for. The car did run better, however on 5-21-2025 the car stalled while I was going 70 mph on an interstate hwy. while I was in the middle lane. I was able to coast to…

Owner report 11736405 · 2026-05-07 (May 7, 2026)
Transmission failure without any warning while driving. Vehicle engine immediately shut down resulting in no power and loss of power steering. Vehicle came to a complete stop within seconds. Fortunately I was on a country road with no traffic. Had I been traveling on a highway I could have been rear ended and suffered major injuries! I had to push the vehicle to the side of the road since there was no power. There was a recall of the 2023 model for the exact same transmission issue that I experienced. There are Honda owners driving 2022 CRV mo…

Owner report 11554156 · 2023-11-08 (November 8, 2023)
Power system problem light started coming on soon after we bought the car new. It has been towed to Barber Honda in Bakersfield many times- it dies, won’t start. It is on the 3rd battery within 1st year. The last incident was 10/23/23 the car suddenly lost all power in an area of mountains- I was stranded without cell phone service, it was dangerous. Finally had it towed again- this time they replaced the fuel pump. We have had a lawyer since 4/4/23 and Honda has refused to do anything to about this car! I am scared to drive it.
