Owner report 10340196 · 2010-06-26 (June 26, 2010)
I HAVE 2004 HARLEY DAVIDSON ROAD KING POLICE. I WAS COMING DOWN THE CANYON AND MY REAR BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY DOWN ON A CURVE. I USED AS MUCH FRONT BRAKE AS I COULD WITH OUTLOCKING UP THE WHEEL. BEFORE I COULD STOP I HAD TO GO OFF THE ROAD TO AVOID A TRUCK IN FRONT OF ME. I THEN HAD TO LAY THE BIKE DOWN TO AVOID GOING IN THE RIVER. A GUY STOPPED AND HELPED ME GET IT BACK UP TO THE ROAD. I NOTICE WHEN I PUSHED THE REAR BRAKE PEDAL THAT BRAKE FLUID WAS SPRAYING OUT OF THE METAL BRAKE LINE ABOUT 2" BEHIND THE MASTER CYLINDER. I CALLED A TOW …

Owner report 10086100 · 2004-08-03 (August 3, 2004)
WHILE OPERATING MY MOTORCYCLE, THE ENGINE BEGAN SPUTTERING AND THE ODOR OF GASOINE FUMES BECAME OVERWHELMING. I LOOKED DOWN AT THE AIR INTAKE AND NOTICED GASOLINE SPRAYING ON THE ENGINE AND PAST THE AIR INTAKE. IT WAS QUITE FORTUNATE THAT THIS DID NOT RESULT IN A FIRE! THE FUEL LINE HAD SEPARATED FROM THE CONNECTOR ON THE FUEL RAIL AND THE FUEL PUMP WAS SUPPLYING FUEL AT THE FULL DELIVERY RATE. INSPECTION OF THE FUEL LINE SHOWED THAT THE FUEL LINE WAS A HARDENED PLASTIC LINE (COVERED BY A PLASTIC CORREGATED HEAT SHIELD) THAT WAS HELD IN PLA…
