Owner report 10162047 · 2006-07-10 (July 10, 2006)

DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE'S HYDROBOOST WAS TOO SMALL FOR THE TRUCK AND MADE TOO MUCH NOISE WHEN THE BRAKES OR STEERING WERE USED. THE DEALER DETERMINED THE VEHICLE HAS NO PROBLEMS, BUT THE CONTACT EXPRESSED THERE WILL BE DIFFICULTY DOING TOWING WORK PARTICULARLY GOING UPHILL AND DOWNHILL. THE VEHICLE IS ONLY TWO MONTHS OLD AND HAS BEEN DEMONSTRATING THIS PROBLEM SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE SECOND MONTH.

VEHICLE- 2006 GMC SIERRA 2500HD 4X4 DURAMAX/ALLISON THERE IS A VERY NOTICEABLE CLUNK/LOOSENESS IN THE STEERING. I HAVE GREASED/LUBRICATED THE WHOLE STEERING MECHANISM WITH NO REDUCTION IN THE PROBLEM. MY FEAR IS THE LOOSENESS WILL RESULT IN A COMPLETE FAILURE OR LOSS OF STEERING. PRIOR TO THAT I FEAR POOR DRIVING/MANEUVER ABILITY WHILE THIS ISSUE PERSIST. *JB

WE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP FERGUSON PONTIAC GMC AND WE WERE TOLD THAT IT WAS NOT POSSIBLE AND OUT OF WARRANTY. WE HAD OUR MECHANIC TOW IT IN. I KNOW THAT THERE ARE ISSUES WITH THE RESISTOR WIRING. MY VEHICLE SYSTEMS ALL WORKED FINE BEFORE THE INCIDENT AND GAVE NO INDICATIO…
