THE BRAKE PEDAL SWITCH FAILED TO INITIATE THE RELAYS AND PUMP. CONSEQUENTLY, THE VEHICLE HAD PRACTICALLY NO BRAKES OTHER THAN THE DRUM BRAKE BY HAND BRAKE HANDLE. I APPLIED THE HAND BRAKE. GOOD …

VEHICLE HAS COMPLETE FUEL SYSTEM FAILURE. IN TALKING TO DSU IN PORTLAND, THEY TOLD ME THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM IN THIS YEAR OF VEHICLE AND THAT A CHECK VALVE IN THE FUEL PUMP DISINTEGRATES AND DESTROYS THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM. THEY TOLD ME THAT GM KNOWS ABOUT THIS ISSUE, HAS CHANGED THE CHECK VALVE IN NEWER INJECTION PUMPS BUT WILL NOT WARRANTY AND OR RECALL THESE PUMPS. THIS CAUSES A $12,000 REPAIR.
