Owner report 11567352 · 2024-01-23 (January 23, 2024)
On [XXX], I was traveling from Georgia to California in a 2024 Ford Maverick XLT 2.5L Hybrid with approximately 219 miles on the odometer, using cruise control set at 73 mph and in the ECO mode. I'd stopped for gas and upon returning to the highway [XXX]) the vehicle, still using cruise and in ECO mode, experienced an extreme reduction in power and the check engine light illuminated. I pulled over to the shoulder and shut down the engine; restarted the engine and tried to resume driving while changing to normal mode and not using cruise cont…

Owner report 11580800 · 2024-04-02 (April 2, 2024)
On March 18, 2024, my 2024 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid had just over 1,000 miles on it. That same night, approximately 20 yards before an upcoming stop sign, I got a big red triangle message on the dash saying STOP SAFELY NOW. When I finally got stopped at the STOP sign, everything shut down. No accelerator, now power and the transmission dial locked after I put it in Park. I could not get it in Neutral to push it out of the intersection. Since it is a front wheel drive vehicle, the front wheels locked also. Thank goodness my husband was with me, …

These two failure types for 4 incidents may involve 3 components or 1 or 2 of the ADAS; Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking (Certainly,) and Forward Collision Warning: The first incident was at town speed when a vehicle to the immediate front right slowed to depart the turn land into a driveway, and my vehicle slowed abruptly, although the other was not in my path. A subsequent time, mine abruptly slowed under similar conditions and displayed the red imminent crash warning. A third time, it slowed abruptly on the freeway whe…

Owner report 11616494 · 2024-09-25 (September 25, 2024)
While driving my hybrid Maverick on the interstate at approximately 75 mph, I accelerated to overtake another vehicle going up a slight hill (very slight). When it hit around 80mph, the power meter hit 100% and there was a momentary complete loss of power (peddle felt dead under foot) and vehicle started to decelerate. I let off the pedal and reapplied gently staying well below 50% power. The truck seemed to have less power for the remainder of the interstate drive but returned to normal after shutting off, restarting and driving again. A very …

Owner report 11576927 · 2024-03-12 (March 12, 2024)
There is a small gasoline leak around the filler tube going to the fuel tank. Ford does not have a replacement part for the problem so the vehicle is sitting at the dealership.

Owner report 11630764 · 2024-12-14 (December 14, 2024)
The fuel tank is leaking where the fill tube enters the tank on the drivers side. It was at the dealership for this issue once. A hose clamp was found to be loose. It was tightened and considered fixed. Just tonight while.the truck had a full.tank I decided to inspect the repair. I found it to be leaking still. I have read of 22MY trucks having an issue with the interface between the fuel tank and the tank inlet hose barb fitting. (The white part in the attached picture.) I only noticed the gas smell originally whith a full tank and while parke…

Owner report 11625880 · 2024-11-18 (November 18, 2024)
I have a 2024 hybrid Maverick with 17,000 miles on. The The 12 volt battery is a known issue in the vehicle that Ford has failed to address. When I went to go start my truck the other morning the battery had failed. I hooked up a jump pack to the proper terminals under the hood so that I could start the vehicle. I was successful in starting the vehicle after that. I had every warning message pop up on the dashboard. I turn the vehicle off and try to restart a few times to no avail. I had somewhere that I had to be so I started to drive. The acc…

Owner report 11680084 · 2025-08-12 (August 12, 2025)
I was flat towing the vehicle behind a motorcoach. I pulled off the interstate and made a gradual left turn. The maverick started to violently wobble. Pulled off to the side of road and could not tell if anything was wrong. Spent the night at a campground. Next morning I had a steering assist warning come up.
