DT: 1997 FORD SUPER DUTY CHASSE CLASS C MOTOR HOME. ALL FOUR BACK TIRES HAVE BLOWN OUT. THE FIRST HAPPENED 2 YEARS, AND IN THE PAST TWO YEARS ALL FOUR BLEW OUT. SPOKE TO THE MANUFACTURER AND THERE WERENO RECALLS. NO ONE KNOWS WHY THESE TIRES HAVE BLOWN OUT. THE CONSUMER WAS DRIVING UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS ON THE INTERSTATE AT 65 MPH. THERE WERE NO CRASHES OR INJURIES BECAUSE OF THE BLOW OUTS. HOWEVER , HAD TO REPLACE THE BACK BRAKES, ROTORS AND THE REAR SEALS ON THE AXLES. *AK

WHILE TRAVELING SOUTH ON US RTE 220 ON A CLEAR DRY FALL DAY, I APPLIED THE BRAKES LIGHTLY IN PREPARATION FOR A TRAFFIC LIGHT CONTROLLED INTERSECTION. THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT RIGHT TO THE FLOOR, PROVIDING NO STOPPING ACTION. I PUMPED THE PEDAL AND BUILT UP SOME PEDAL PRESSURE AND FELT SOME BRAKING ACTION ALTHOUGH NOT NEARLY ENOUGH. I DOWN SHIFTED THE TRANSMISSION AND CONTINUED TO HOLD PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE TIRES WERE SQUEALING BUT WE WER0E NOT SLOWING DOWN AS QUICKLY AS WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN.
