TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD F-750. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED WITH THE ILLUMINATION OF THE ABS AND BRAKE LIGHTS ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE IT WAS STATED THAT THE BRAKE UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,000.

THIS VEHICLE WAS USED AS A MOBILE MEDICAL UNIT FOR RESEARCH. TWO STAFF MEMBERS WERE IN THE CAB EN ROUTE TO A STUDY VISIT - BOTH WERE FAMILIAR DRIVERS OF THE VEHICLE. APPROXIMATELY 9 MILES INTO THE TRIP A PASSERBY ON THE INTERSTATE FLAGGED US DOWN AND WANTED US TO PULL OVER AND INFORMED US THAT THE BACK WHEELS WERE ON FIRE. WITHOUT THE PASSERBY, WE WOULD NOT HAVE KNOW ANYTHING WAS WRONG. THERE WERE NO INDICATOR LIGHT WARNINGS AND THE VEHICLE DID NOT SEEM TO BE DRIVING DIFFERENT THAN USUAL. WE PULLED OVER, CALLED 911 FOR ASSISTANCE AND USED …

1. The high pressure fuel system failed, specifically the secondary fuel filter. The fire originated from the injector manifold, burning straight up to the bottom of the hood. Fuel was everywhere and the driver could obviously smell it. 2. This could have been a life threatening fire. 3. The problem has been confirmed by an independent fire safety company that was hired by our insurance. 4. The vehicle was inspected by insurance representatives and the fire department. 5. The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-750. The contact stated that while a driver was driving at various speeds, the vehicle experienced reduced power and failed to accelerate as intended. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where an unknown module was replaced under warranty; however, the failure persisted. The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-750. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated, and the vehicle shut off. The contact pulled over on the side of the road and had the vehicle towed to the dealer. The dealer stated that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 76,000.
