TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-650. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 35 MPH WHEN HE APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE PEDAL WAS ABNORMALLY DEPRESSED INTO THE FLOORBOARD. THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESPOND AND THE CONTACT HAD TO SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. I was driving down the road when the engine suddenly quit. There was no brake assist and no steering assist. I stopped in the middle of the road and could not restart the vehicle. The engine would not crank. There was no transmission gear indicator on the dashboard (likely no CAN-BUS communication with the transmission control module). Eventually I found a loose large-diameter power cable that was loose at the front of the fusebox under the hood, located on the driver-side wheel well. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-650 SUPER DUTY. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE FUEL TANK WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED APPROXIMATELY FIVE TIMES. AFTER EACH FAILURE, THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR FACILITY WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 150,000.

The contact owns a 2006 Ford F-650 SD. The contact stated that he had noticed a leak coming from the vehicle. Upon inspection, the contact discovered that the fuel injector was leaking. Upon further investigation, the contact linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 08E042000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) however, the vehicle was not included. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure and the contact was informed that his vehicle was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F650. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH DURING FAIR WEATHER CONDITIONS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO FUNCTION NORMALLY. THE CHECK TRAN LIGHT ALSO ILLUMINATED AT A LOWER SPEEDS OF 45-50 MPH AND THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F-650 SUPERDUTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AN ELECTRICAL FIRE IGNITED IN THE BATTERY COMPARTMENT. THE WIRING WITHIN THE ECM MELTED DOWN WHICH CAUSED THE FIRE. THE FIRE WAS PUT OUT WITH AN EXTINGUISHER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP WHERE THE DEALER CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO REFUSED TO ASSIST IN REPAIR COSTS.
