Owner report 11475464 · 2022-07-23 (July 23, 2022)

I have owned the vehicle for 4 months & have had 5 total electrical failures. The car totally shuts down while driving in normal mode which is supposed to use the battery first & use the engine only if needed. In all cases the battery was charged enough (over 40%). In two cases, it occurred in my driveway. The other 3 occurred while driving (fortunately not in high traffic). I called the dealer on 4/20/22 but was not able to get an appointment until 4/26 because they are very busy. Seems like this can be a large safety issue & should be a …

Owner report 11505530 · 2023-02-04 (February 4, 2023)

The plastic coolant nipple mounted on the high voltage battery was damaged and the dealership has determined that coolant may have entered the high voltage battery. If coolant did (or could easily) enter the battery, this would be a significant fire hazard and could lead to significant injury or death. The damaged part has been confirmed by the dealership, no one can identify how the damage could have occurred and the least unlikely cause is that I contacted a small animal without knowledge. No noticeable signs of impact (including leftover …

Owner report 11507695 · 2023-02-16 (February 16, 2023)

On February 15, 2023 the Cruise Control on my 2022 Ford Escape was set for 46 mph. Everything was fine for several minutes. Then the "set speed" light jumped to 80 and the car accelerated until I stepped on the brake pedal to turn off the light and resume lower speed. This repeated several more times with the Cruise Control set to various speeds. Sometimes the "set speed" jumped to 75 and other times to 80. Although this situation could have caused a serious accident if I had been following closely behind another car, I was driving a saf…

Owner report 11514922 · 2023-04-01 (April 1, 2023)

While driving on a divided highway in the right-most lane with adaptative cruise control and lane-centering turned on, the steering wheel jerked to the right harder and faster than the driver could react, causing the wheels to collide with a concrete curb that led up to a pedestrian walk way next to the highway. We have not had issues otherwise with the lane-centering. And on a 12-mile diagnostic drive, the dealership did not observe the behavior.

Owner report 11592655 · 2024-06-05 (June 5, 2024)

Power steering on the vehicle failed without any warning or notice. It happened just as car was being parked. If the incident had happened while driving, our family would have been in grave danger. This is the second major issue with the relatively new car, in addition to the two safety recalls. Ford should be held accountable for faulty engineering that is unsafe and could take lives.

Owner report 11636762 · 2025-01-18 (January 18, 2025)

Slippery Drive Mode was On. EV Mode was On. Fortunately, an auto-shutdown sequence occurred when the battery was low which …

Owner report 11653110 · 2025-04-07 (April 7, 2025)

When Accelerating from approximately 25mph - 40mph and accelerating hard, the vehicle is shifting to Neutral (HARD). It feels like you hit a wall. Does not occur from stop. Letting off throttle and the transmission will reengage and allow full acceleration as if nothing happened. No warning indicators on dash. Is duplicatable. Vehicle had Telematics control module update in December already. Vehicle had transmission replacement 25-JUNE-2024 according to History. Tried reporting on GCR but would not permit. Sounds identical to 24S33 but this veh…
