OVERLOADED REAR SUSPENSION MAY AFFECT BRAKING ABILITY.

Consequence: IMPAIRED BRAKING ABILITY COULD RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT.

Remedy: REPLACE BRAKE PROPORTIONING VALVE.

REAR TIRES MAY RUB ON THE REAR LEAF SPRINGS. ALSO, REAR WHEELS MAY BE DEFECTIVE.

Consequence: CONTINUED DRIVING COULD RESULT IN REAR TIRES BLOWING OUTWITHOUT WARNING; DRIVER COULD LOSE CONTROL AND A CRASH COULD OCCUR.

Remedy: REPLACE TIRES AND WHEELS, AS NECESSARY.

Reported: 1988-04-05 (April 5, 1988) · Model years: 1986, 1987, 1988

FUEL TANK LOCATED TOO CLOSE TO DRIVE SHAFT, SO THAT UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS, THE TANKS MATING FLANGE MAY BE STRUCK BY THE UNIVERSAL JOINT ON DRIVE SHAFT.

Consequence: CONTACT OF THE UNIVERSAL JOINT WITH THE FUEL TANK COULDEVENTUALLY CAUSE TANK TO LEAK FUEL, WHICH MIGHT BECOME A FIRE HAZARD.

Remedy: REPLACE WITH NEWLY DESIGNED TANK TO PRECLUDE INTERFERENCE WITH UNIVERSAL JOINT OF THE DRIVE SHAFT.
